Do you want some extra spending money? Do you spend a lot of time surfing the internet? Well, why don’t you make money while surfing the internet? It turns out that there a large number of ways to make money online. All you have to do is look. In the list below, you will find many strategies I have learned to make money online. This list is not exhaustive, but it should give you a good starting point.

1. Make Money Taking Surveys–Taking surveys is one of the easiest ways to make money online. There are many different internet survey sites. Some of them are reputable and some of them are not. Some of the sites I have had success with are Lightspeed Consumer Panel, Survey Savvy, My Survey, and Survey Head. You can also make money through university sponsored survey sites. Some of the sites also offer referral programs where you can invite people to join the site and make money from every survey they take. You won’t make a fortune through taking surveys, but if you are diligent you can make some nice spending money.

2. Make Money Blogging–Some people are so successful with their blogs that they can afford to do it full time. I won’t go into the how-to’s of making money blogging in this post since that is an article in and of itself. However, if you want more information about this, I would recommend reading this article from ChristianPf.com It is the most comprehensive and helpful article I have read about the topic.

3. Make Money Viewing Ads–One of the easiest ways to make money online is to view ads. This is so easy it feels like cheating. YouData pays you about $0.15 for each ad you view. You do not need to purchase anything or complete any offers. It does not pay much, but it is the easiest money you will ever make.

4. Make Money Reading Emails–Another easy way to make money online is to read emails with ads in them. Hits4Pay allows you to do this. I am not sure how much money the average person makes through this. I signed up a while ago but have not received any emails from them. Others, however, have received emails. I think it depends on the information in your profile.

5. Make Money Completing Bank Offers–Many online banks offer high yield savings accounts and checking accounts. Basically, that means that the bank offers a higher interest rate than land-based banks. Often, these banks offer sign-on bonuses and referral bonuses. For example, ING Direct offers a $25 referral bonus if you deposit at least $250 into their savings account. You have to access the site through a referral link to get this bonus. I personally have an account there and received a $25 bonus for signing up through a referral link. If you want a referral link, I still have nine left to give out. Send me an email with your name in it and I will send you one (you get the $25 bonus and I get a $10 bonus when you sign up). Once you sign up, make sure you also send out your referral links so you can receive bonuses when other people sign up. Other banks also offer sign on and referral bonuses. Research different banks to see what you can find. Some people have gotten quite good at signing up for bonuses at many different banks. The key to this is checking with the bank and making sure they do a soft pull and not a hard pull. A soft pull means that it will not hurt your credit score to open an account there. A hard pull will hurt your credit score. This only really applies if you are signing up for many different accounts, but it is definitely something to remember.

6. Make Money Completing Credit Card Offers–Similar to the bank offers described above, credit cards also often offer sign on and referral bonuses. For example, you can get $50 cash back bonus with the Discover® More Card! Usually, these offers require you to spend a certain amount of money on the credit card within a certain number of weeks or months. Make sure to check out the terms of the bonus before signing up.

7. Make Money Completing Offers–Although I have not tried this myself, some people claim they make a lot of money completing offers through companies such as IDeal. If you are interested in learning more about this, check out these IDeal instructions from a fellow blogger as well as this article about IDeal.

8. Make Money Searching the Internet–Some companies pay you just to search the internet! The most popular site for this is Swagbucks. Just set Swagbucks as your homepage and use it instead of Google to search the internet. Randomly, you will win points you can redeem for different prizes. Also, if you read blogs regularly, they often feature codes where you can earn extra Swagbucks. Can this get any easier?

9. Make Money Selling Online–The internet is a great way to sell items you no longer need or want. Ebay and Craigslist are the two most popular sites for doing this. I personally sold on Ebay last summer and made some decent money doing so. I even wrote an article on this blog about my experience making money on Ebay. Other sites, such as Half.com and Amazon.com, are other good places to sell items online.

10. Make Money Shopping Online–Okay, so this one seems a little backwards. How can I make money by spending money? Well, if you are going to be shopping online anyway, there are sites you can use to earn cash back on your online purchases. Ebates and Cashbaq are two popular sites for doing this. Imagine, if you own a rewards credit card that gives you 3% cash back on a certain online purchase, and you use Ebates and get 5% cash back on that same purchase, you would get a total of 8% cash back! That is not bad at all.

11. Make Money Freelance Writing–There are many ways to find online freelance writing jobs. My favorite site for this is Elance. On Elance, you can bid for many different positions offered by many different employers. There are all sorts of opportunities here!

12. Make Money Entering Giveaways–Many blogs and websites offer giveaways all the time. Although these usually are not for cold hard cash, they are often for somewhat valuable items. Also, the ones offered through blogs usually have fewer entrants so you have a higher chance of winning. I have already won two different books through giveaways!
