With the economy struggling right now and with time off so difficult to get, people are turning more and more to stacations–fun activities that are close-to-home. The imagination is the limit when it comes to stacations. The more creative you are, the more ideas you will come up with. Here are some stacation ideas for you to start off with:

Museums. Some museums are free to enter or offer great deals during the summer!

Library. Visit a new library. Maybe you could start a book club?

All Day/Night Movies. Rent movies and watch them while eating popcorn and chocolate. How much better can it get?

Bowling. Look to see if free bowling passes are available for your kids. A great rainy day activity!

Free Symphonies in the Park! Some places in Indiana do this. Check to see what free events are taking place in your local area!

Gourmet Cooking. How about some at-home cooking classes? Gourmet or not-so gourment. Baking? How about something along the line of those parties where you make and take home freezer meals?

Local Attractions. What unique places are in your area? Indiana has a place called Conner prairie – a fun outdoor living history museum! Check your Yellow Pages to see what attractions are in your area.

State parks! Enjoy the outdoors or relax by the beach. There are plenty of state parks to visit and tromp around!

Concerts. I love them! Find a free local concert or treat yourself to a more expensive one. This is your stacation after all!

Family Talent Show. What talents does your family have? Find a day to show them off! Not only will you grow together as a family, but you will also have a great time!

Family Get-Togethers! Spend time ‘just hanging out’ with your family. You will be amazed at how much fun you will have.
