Save Money This Father’s Day Using Cash-Back Programs

Father’s Day is coming up and that means it is time to go shopping! Many people purchase Father’s Day presents, and presents for other holidays, online. Did you know, though, that you could be earning up to 30% cash back on your online purchases? That’s right–many online retailers (and most of the well-known ones) participate in cash-back programs such as Ebates, Cashbaq, Mr. Rebates, and Fat Wallet. All you have to do is go to one of these four sites, click on the store name from that site, and you will then be taken to the store’s website. When you purchase something from that store, you will automatically be credited with cash back at the rebates site (sometimes it takes a few days to show up). It’s that simple! Why would you shop online without using one of these programs? Let’s take a closer look at each one.

Ebates. Ebates is probably my favorite out of these three cash back sites. It is the most popular one so it has the most stores and often has the highest amount of cash back (not always, though, so make sure you check the other two). Ebates also provides/alerts you to coupons that can be used on stores’ websites. Right now, they are offering a $5 sign-up bonus to new members. Cash-back deals going on right now include 6% cash-back at Sony, 5% at HP, 5% at Home Depot, 4% at Sears, 4% at Dell, 4% at RadioShack, 4% at Target, and 3% at Cabelas–these are great places for Father’s Day gifts! There are over 1000 stores total, some with much higher cash back than I listed! It is free and easy to sign up, so what are you waiting for?

Cashbaq. My very close second favorite to Ebates is Cashbaq. Cashbaq also is partnered with over1000 stores so I always check it along with Ebates. Sometimes Ebates offers higher cash back and sometimes Cashbaq offers higher cash back. Also similar to Ebates, Cashbaq offers coupons and is currently offering a $5 sign up bonus to new members. Cash-back deals going on right now include 25% at Restaurant.com, 8% at Adobe, 7% at Lenovo, 5% at Kodak, 3% at Ace Hardware, and 2.5% at OfficeMax. Make sure to check it out!

Mr. Rebates. Mr. Rebates is somewhat new to the world of cash-back sites, but it is becoming very popular very fast. It is set up very similarly to both Ebates and Cashbaq. It is even offering the same $5 sign up bonus to new members. Cash-back deals going on right now include 15% at Cell Phone Shop, 12% at Shoes.com, 8% at Finish Line, 6% at Borders, 6% at Macy’s 5% at Barnes & Noble, and 4% at Kmart. Why not give it a try?

Fat Wallet. FatWallet is slightly different than the other three and is probably my least favorite. Like, the other three, Fat Wallet offers cash back for online purchase. They also provide coupons. Additionally, Fat Wallet has extensive forums where you can share deals, money-saving tips, and more. However, Fat Wallet does not offer the $5 sign up bonus and their website is somewhat more difficult to navigate, especially for the cash-back bonuses. Really, the strength of this site lies mostly in the forums. Cash-back deals going on right now include 6% at AutoAnything.com, 6% at Barnes & Noble, 4% at Sears, 3% at Kmart, 3% at HP, and 3% at Cabela’s.

Each of the first three programs offer referral programs (not FatWallet) where you can earn even more money by referring new members. When they earn cash-back, you earn a percentage too!

Do you know of any other cash-back sites? Which one is your favorite?
