About Me
Hi! My name is Olivia and I am the owner of IndependentBeginnings.com. I am a college student at Brigham Young University and I am majoring in physical science composite teaching. I am married to the most amazing husband in the world, Bret. After college, Bret and I plan on moving to Southwest Kansas (where he is from) where he will be a partner in his family’s 10,000 acre farm and I will teach physics, chemistry, and earth science classes. I also hope to someday coach gymnastics and cheerleading.
Recently, I have developed an intense interest in personal finance. I think it is amazing how many opportunities are available to people if they simply understood the basic principles of personal finance. For this reason, I decided to start this blog. I want to help young adults navigate their way through the sometimes complicated world of personal finance, frugality, and independent living. This blog will cover issues such as budgeting, credit, financial aid, savings, investing, taxes, insurance, smart spending, etc. Also, this blog may have posts about coupons and deals, college life, frugal living, and career advice. I am by no means an expert in personal finance and I am not licensed to give financial advice (although I am considering pursuing certification in the future). I just want to help people learn as I learn. We can discover useful tips, strategies, information, and ideas together!
